Job Description Teen Coordinator

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Huntsville

 St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is an evangelical congregation in the Reformed tradition. We worship and serve together in the community of Huntsville, in the heart of Muskoka. We are a Christ centred community called to love and witness to all people by each one bringing, blessing and building others up in Christ’s love. We have a position for a part time Teen Coordinator beginning in September 2024.

Goal

To provide programming for teens that will be fun, encourage their spiritual journey to faith in Jesus Christ and provide opportunities for integration into church life. and service.

Minimum Qualifications

• Post-secondary training in youth ministry or equivalent experience in youth ministry.
• Maturing Christian who exhibits a growing knowledge of Scripture and demonstrates Christ-like behaviour
• Passion for youth ages 12-18. Ability to build Christ-like relationships with youth and encourage youth in their Christian journey.
• In agreement with the Core Values and Mission Statement of St. Andrew’s, Huntsville
• A clear Police Check and Vulnerable Persons check, First Aid qualifications an asset

Your responsibilities as Teen Coordinator:

• Plan and coordinate activities for Monday night or another agreeable night for teen meetings
• Coordinate teaching of teen Sunday morning classes
• Coordinate Thursday noon hour meet, eat and chat
• Develop a leadership team (parents or teens) to assist with running Monday program
• Assist the minister with profession of faith classes as needed
• Manage teen budget monthly

Overview of the financial and administrative details:

• This is a part time position 15 hours per week. Remuneration is an hourly rate commensurate with experience to be paid monthly. Vacation pay at a rate of 6%.
• A vehicle and valid driver’s licence are necessary as this position may require driving youth to events.
• Mileage will be reimbursed at the PCC rate of $0.45/km. (revised annually)
• The term begins September 1, 2024 and ends June 30, 2025. Option for contract renewal in June 2025.
• This contract can be terminated with 30 days notice by either party.
• Accountable to Session via the elders who sit on the Family Ministry Life Group.
