• We ask for your healing hand upon Nancy Slater this week as she recovers from surgery. We pray for the surgery and recovery to be successful and for Peter as he cares for his wife.
• Together we pray for the continued spiritual health and welfare of our Session elders leading in this difficult season of the church’s life. We ask for wisdom, strength and grace to be upon them. God, may we all have Jesus’ servant’s heart as we reach out and encourage our leadership and each other.
• We lift up the teachers, parents and children required to do online learning for school. We ask for patience, perseverance and extra measures of forgiveness to pour upon our families during this difficult time. We pray for those parents forced to work from home or give up their work so that they can stay home with their children. We pray for child care providers. Lord, be with them. Bless them all with daily bread.
• We pray for the people in the Intensive Care Units in our hospitals. We pray for the doctors, nurses and support staff to have knowledge and energy. We pray for the people suffering in the ICUs without family or friends to have hope and healing. We pray for adequate supplies and beds to be available for those in need. O God, we ask for your mercy and grace to rest upon our ICUs.
• We lift up Mozambique—Violent attacks are becoming more frequent. Extremists are destroying churches, schools and homes belonging to Christians. We pray that emergency relief will reach those suffering and that God’s peace will cover the nation.
• Praise the Lord for His powerful and mighty hand. Yours, Oh Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty…in your hand is power and might; and it lies in your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone (1 Chron 29:11-12). We praise your mighty power!
