A Christ-centered community where we bring, bless, build and belong
Prayer Items:
Praise the Lord who is the Creator of all things. He put the stars in their places, built up the mountains and filled the oceans. He detailed the feathers on the birds, and coloured the hillsides with flowers. He forms and dissolves the nations, he creates both the seen and unseen. He forms everything with His great power and creativity. All is His and we praise Him for His mighty works!
We lift up Canada— Lord, we ask that you would surround our indigenous brothers and sisters with your comfort, healing and justice. We ask that your Holy Spirit be with the people involved in the investigation of the burial sites of residential schools, that they would be full of grace and truth. Lord, there is so much hurt. We ask that you guard us from continuing to hurt each other, that forgiveness, justice and love may be extended and accepted so that you may bring healing to our broken land and peoples.
We pray for the all the commissioners to General Assembly, each leaving normal routines and preparing for several days of concentrated focus, exasperation and fellowship as they work together online on ZOOM. God we pray for your people at Assembly to believe that in you a way to unity and joy can be found. Those who need to repent, let them be humble, and those who need to be bold, to be gracious. We also pray specifically for the young adult and student representatives to General Assembly (15 representatives total). Holy God, send the Holy Spirit to fill your people with refreshment and rejoicing over the sense of your presence in power that you desire to be experienced at Assembly. Make the truth shared give clarity so that the decisions that need to be made in response to the resolutions at Assembly will be based on truth and result in freedom that full truth brings.
We ask for your hand to be upon teachers and leaders of all kinds. We pray that you would sustain them, guide them and that they would follow Jesus as an example in word and deed. May their words be edifying and encouraging, their instruction clear and knowledgeable, their discipline just and merciful. We pray that your Holy Spirit work through our teachers and leaders so they may be refreshing, clean water to us.
Together we pray for the people in our church. We ask that you would place on our hearts and minds this week a family or person from our church that you would like us to contact. Maybe it’s the people sitting in front of us in the pew, or behind us. Or someone we used to see across the Go Forth Hall during coffee time. We pray for that person and ask for courage to reach out this week with encouragement.
Praise the Lord that He grows good fruit in our lives through the saving grace of Jesus and the powerful moving of the Holy Spirit!
